What is a bookplate?
An ex-libris (from the Latin ex libris meis, "belonging to my books") is, in bibliophilia, a personalized engraving that a collector affixes to the inside front cover or endpaper of their books as a mark of ownership. Ex-libris also exist in handwritten forms, stamps, seals, etc. It's a tradition that has existed for millennia; we've simply forgotten it somewhat.

What does "limited edition bookplate" mean?
This means that when a bookplate is offered for sale, only 20 copies can be purchased. For example: Jean-Louis is the first to reserve model X, leaving 19 available. Marie buys the same model in her name, leaving only 18, and so on until all 20 copies are sold.

If a model is out of print, can I hope that it will one day be reissued?
Unfortunately not, when a product is out of stock, it's gone for good. An exception is made for those who already own the bookplate in question in case of loss or a change of surname.

My name is a bit long, I don't know if it can be adapted for a bookplate.
Don't worry about that; focus instead on the design you like. We'll adapt your name to the design and send you several proofs if needed. In 99.9% of cases, the length of the name isn't an issue. In the worst-case scenario, it might need to be shortened to your first initial followed by your last name. But this is a very rare situation. If, despite this, no solution suits you, you can change the design or cancel the order as long as the proof hasn't been approved.

Is an ink pad included with my bookplate order?
Yes, each bookplate, whether limited edition or custom-made, comes with its own ink pad.

Do you make custom-designed bookplates, and if so, at what price?
Yes, everything is explained here . It will cost you 280 euros.

How long does it take you to create a custom bookplate?
The longest part isn't the creation itself, but the wait before your order arrives. As a guideline, expect approximately 6 months of waiting time, then a few days for creation, and roughly 2 weeks for manufacturing and shipping.

It's a gift, would it be possible to leave the invoice out of the package?
No invoice is included in the package (you will receive the invoice by email at the time of purchase).

Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, they are available here . They allow you to give a limited edition bookplate that the recipient can choose from the online collection or a custom-designed bookplate. These vouchers have no expiry date.

How long will it take for my order to be shipped?
Limited edition bookplate : 15 days on average (time to process your order, personalize the bookplate, manufacture it, package it and ship it).
All other products in the shop (bookmarks, screen prints, notebooks, etc.): 7 days on average.
Depending on the season, delivery times may vary (Christmas, for example, is a very busy period).

What are the delivery charges?
FRANCE: Free Colissimo delivery for all bookplate purchases. For other products, shipping costs are calculated based on weight and delivery options (Colissimo or tracked letter). INTERNATIONAL: Shipping costs €15 (varies depending on the destination).

Can I get a refund for my purchase?
Of course, this is possible as long as your bookplate hasn't been produced and the proof hasn't been approved. After that, a refund will no longer be possible due to the unique and personalized engraving of the bookplate with your name. For other products, a refund is possible if you change your mind.

Can I return my purchase?
For bookplates, returns are not possible as the item you received has been engraved with the requested name. For other products, returns are possible, but return shipping costs are your responsibility.

Do you create other things besides those you present on your website?
Indeed, Morgane can design your logos, large format illustrations, announcements, invitations, etc…

Can I have the HD file of my bookplate?
Unfortunately not, HD files are not included with your order.

I have many books, I would prefer my bookplate to be printed rather than a stamp, is that possible?

When do you release new collections?
Good question… actually, there isn't a specific timeframe; Morgane designs as inspiration strikes… but one thing is certain: she always designs new models for Christmas (around September or October) and usually designs a new collection around February or March.
